E.L.F. Clear Brow & Lash Mascara vs. ABH Clear Brow Gel

E.L.F. Clear Brow & Lash Mascara vs. ABH Clear Brow Gel

I am super excited for todays comparison! Two things I love: Eyebrow products and saving money. I am all about ditching my expensive beauty products this year and finding different ways to save up for more important things.

It doesn’t always work out the way we hope. Some beauty products are just worth the splurge, others are not!

What if I told you I could save you an easy 25 dollars?

The first time I bought something from E.L.F., I was super impressed. Then Target decided to pull out of Canada and I was left sad and broke. Now that Ulta has began shipping to Canada, I can finally revisit E.L.F. and try out all the wonderful products they have to offer.

I have been using my Anastasia Beverly Hills Clear Brow Gel since July. It was the only brow product that kept my eyebrows glued down in the heat and humidity. I am slowly coming to the end of my tube and really rethinking this CAD 29 price tag.

This long-wearing clear gel sets and defines brows without fuss. The soothing chamomile formula also conditions hair and offers a lustrous, natural look.

Enter E.L.F. Clear Brow & Lash Mascara. It has the same claims as ABH’s Brow Gel and get this… It’s CAD 2.49. I bought 3 tubes and called it a day, I knew I had to try it out!

Achieve glossy, shiny, healthy looking lashes and brows, infused with long wearing conditioning agents in e.l.f. Cosmetics Clear Brow & Lash Mascara. Flawless lashes and brows have never been easier! Cruelty free and vegan.

Now let’s put them to the test!

I absolutely love clear eyebrow gels, They’re easy to use and you cant make any mistakes. I’ve used so many eyebrow mascaras and gels that have “tinted” my eyebrows, adding more colour than I needed.

A clear eyebrow gel pulls all your hairs up and leaves them looking groomed and natural. A GOOD clear eyebrow gel will hold this look all day.

The packaging is pretty standard. You have two sides. One for your eyelashes and one for your eyebrows. It kind of reminds me of the makeup I used when I was a kid. I remember those double ended mascaras that had one side for thickening, one for lengthening. I didn’t dream that right? That was a real thing?

I don’t think I’m going to use this on my eyelashes. Both ends look similar. The wand for your eyebrows is a tad bit longer and thicker with a square tip. The eyelash tip is a bit more angled and tapered. I used both ends on my eyebrows and didn’t see any difference.

The product itself is amazing! It pulls my eyebrows straight up and sets quickly. It’s quite liquidy but hardens nicely as it sets down. The feel is almost exactly like my ABH Clear Brow Gel. It’s hard but not crunchy or uncomfortable.

I combed my hairs through a few times and made sure they were all laying down flat. When my hair is down in my face, it tends to push my eyebrows in all directions. At the end of the day my eyebrows still look intact, in place and well tamed.

I’m super impressed with the holding power of this formula right here!

The packaging is really nice. The metal case is highly reflective and looks really nice and sleek. I love having this in my makeup bag as it looks much different than my mascara tube, minimizing the rummaging I have to do.

The applicator is very similar to E.L.F.’s Mascara end (seen above.) It’s a little bit fuller, longer and stiffer. Again, this is not noticeable as both preformed virtually the same.

The product is fool proof. It holds my eyebrows in place without being stiff or uncomfortable. It does not let up all day!

My eyebrow hairs on the right side of my face are especially stubborn near the tail. As you can see in my first photo, they grow straight and downwards, leaving me with a circular eyebrow shape that isn’t doing me any favours.

With my ABH Clear Brow Gel they’re pulled out straight, leaving me with a beautiful sharp tail. Other than a couple of hairs near the front of my eyebrows, nothing changed throughout the day!

Hey Robert which one do you like?

You heard it here first! Both Robert and I think you need to ditch your 30 dollar eyebrow products and go buy E.L.F’s Clear Brow Gel right now!

Although I’ll admit that ABH Clear Brow Gel is absolutely AMAZING, it doesn’t justify the enormous price tag. My E.L.F. Clear Brow & Lash Mascara gives me the same results and is a fraction of the price. It’s the same price as a small latte in Vancouver, maybe even cheaper. If you can’t afford the three dollars, hit your girl up! Queen on a Dime for the people!
