Stila – Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick Review

If you saw my last post on Urban Decay’s Vice Liquid Lipstick, then you know that I’m on a quest to find the best liquid lipstick.

So, because this is Queen on a dime and not Queen with the coin, you know I’m buying everything on sale. Boxing day is coming up, so get ready for some major sales. Sephora currently has the “mini Stila stay all day” liquid lipstick in Beso as a 100 point perk. I bought my full size at Ulta when it was half off, so look out for that!

I’ve always owned one thing from Stila and that’s their Stay all day waterproof liquid eyeliner. I’ve been repurchasing this for about 6 years now and it has never failed me. I assumed that this liquid lipstick would live up to the “Stay all day” name.

This creamy, full-coverage lip color provides intense hydration with bold, long-lasting pigment that stays put for up to 12 hours of continuous wear.

Packaging ✩✩✩✩

The packaging is so simple with a clear tube and gold accents. It has 0.10oz of product which is pretty decent/average for a liquid lipstick. It’s thin and compact enough to keep on you at all times, mine stays in my car.

Top – Mini Beso, Bottom – Como

Applicator ✩✩✩✩

This has a regular doe foot applicator which makes application hassle free. I have no issues applying this on the go and getting crisp, clean lines without putting in an insane amount of effort.

Left – Beso, Right – Como

Formula ✩✩✩✩✩

I think the formula is great and it smells like cupcakes. Stila claims that it “hydrates and softens lips so they look and feel beautiful.” When you first apply it, the lipstick drys down quickly and matte. As the day goes on, you can feel your lips soften and the tight, dryness fades away. The formula is light enough that you can go on with your day and almost forget you have anything on your lips.

Top – Como, Bottom – Beso

Colour ✩✩✩✩✩

I own Beso and Como, both colours are so beautiful and unique. They’re bright and complement my skin tone/complexion perfectly. Light purples and bright reds tend to leave me with yellow looking teeth but these seemed to be just the right shade. Stila provides an array of different matte shades from nude to the deepest plum. I see that they do have one satin shade in Dolce which looks like a beautiful nude, almost gloss with gold flecks.

Left – Como, Right – Beso

Longevity ✩✩✩✩✩

I have to say that I’m thoroughly impressed with this liquid lipstick. I wore it to a work Christmas party where I was eating and drinking all night long. When I took a look in the mirror at the end of the night it looked as if I had just put it on. This is the first time I’ve owned a lipstick that I’m not afraid to apply in the morning and leave the house without my makeup bag to remove or reapply the product throughout the day.

6 hours of wear, 2 meals, countless blots and absolutely no touch ups! (Sorry for the bad iPhone quality on the right)

If you’re a liquid lipstick fanatic, you have to try it out. It lives up to it’s claims and stays put. The search is over… For now.
