Styled for less

While I’m all for keeping up with trends, I don’t believe you need to spend a fortune to do so.

You want to leave your house in a hurry, throw something simple on and look like you actually put thought into what you’re wearing? Me too.

Are you bored of wearing the same pieces of clothing and looking to change up your wardrobe on a dime? Me too!

I follow so many different fashion bloggers and have to force myself to stop scrolling through their feeds, knowing that I can’t afford a thing that they’re wearing or promoting. We need more broke girls blogging!

This is a blog post for my fellow Vancouverites. Whether you’re a student, saving money for something special, or spending it all on housing and bills. I feel you, we live in one of the most expensive cities in the world. We can’t spend hundreds of dollars on clothing when all of our money goes towards education, a roof over our heads and food in our fridges.

This is a blog series where the goal is to spend $50 or less on a full outfit.

Let’s jump right in and see how I did!

My fall essentials on a budget!

A bell sleeve top is a perfect shirt for work or on the go. A simple black top with a trendy twist paired with a two tone jean with raw edges. I’ve been seeing these raw/distressed edges popping up everywhere. Throw in a black bootie or simple shoe and you have yourself a look!

I love statement jeans as you can dress them up or down. I paired the jeans with a short top to bring the attention down to my legs. These rockstar jeans from Old Navy are my absolute favourite fit, they’re comfortable, fit wonderfully and are so affordable.

drum roll please…

Jeans – Old Navy $17.50 with current 30% off promotion

Top – Gap (only left in gray) $9.99 with 35% off

Boots – DSW $24.98

Total Cost = $52.47

So close! I hit the sales racks for this outfit and still spent $2.47 over my budget.

Next time I’ll be hitting the thrift store and seeing if I can’t also get accessories and a jacket for under $50!

See you then x
