Skin Salvation – Pixi Glow Tonic

Skin Salvation – Pixi Glow Tonic

Thanks for joining me in today’s skin salvation post! Today we’ll be looking at another award winning product.

Pixi Glow Tonic is so raved about. You may have seen it at your local drugstore, on social media or all over Youtube. Everyone from your 62 year old neighbour, Doris, to the biggest names in the model industry have tried this.

The Product

Not only is it pretty, it works wonders on the skin. This is mainly why everyone falls in love with the Glow Tonic. It looks beautiful, smells wonderful, and it packs a punch! It does exactly what it promises which is really all you hope from a product that sounds too good to be true.

It is advertised as an “Exfoliating facial glow tonic. It helps tone, firm and tighten the skin. It removes dead skin cells for healthier looking skin. For all skin types. Alcohol free”

Here’s a list of it’s claims straight from Pixi’s website –

• Exfoliates and purifies the skin with Glycolic Acid
• Ginseng improves circulation and energizes
• Aloe vera soothes and hydrates
• Refines the appearance of pores
• Gently accelerates cell renewal to reveal a brighter, glowing complexion
• Balances, heals and soothes for radient, healthier looking skin

Now  you might hear “Glow Tonic” and space out. I did too  but when I saw that it had glycolic acid, I fully understood. Glycoic acid is a form of AHA. If you don’t know what AHA and BHA are, we need to talk. Please click here to learn more.

Now that you’re all caught up, you know the benefits of chemical exfoliation and why you need it in your life. Say goodbye to all your harsh exfoliators and tools! I’ve introduced you to the future of skin care.

The Routine

It’s user friendly. Extremely easy to use – A little bit on a cotton pad, swipe over face, done.  It’s also only 5% Glycolic Acid (AHA) so you can start a couple times a week and work your way up from there.

Remember, when using a chemical exfoliant, your skin might purge at first. This is because you’re finally cleaning the dull, dead skin and dirt out of your pores bringing pimples to the surface that were being stubborn and hidden. It’s good to see breakouts as this signifies the deep cleaning of your skin/pores.

This product is gentle on the skin but don’t let this fool you into thinking it is a weak exfoliant. Because it’s so gentle, people tend to over use it causing irritation due to over exfoliation. Don’t go crazy with it and also don’t stop using it after seeing results, you need to carry on and keep this as a staple in your routine to continue to see improvements in your skin.

I have been using this product now for 3 months and I’m almost half way done. It goes a long way if you use it properly. I only reach for it about 4 times a week. I’ll either just put a few drops in my hands and pat it into my skin, or wipe it on with a cotton pad.

The best place to find this is your local drugstore. I got mine at Shoppers Drug Mart for about CAD 40 dollars but you can also find it on Amazon.

The Benefits

I tend to focus on my acne scars and hyperpigmentation as these are the things that need a little bit more TLC. I can safely say that using this over time has lightened many of my scars. My right cheek has always been my problem area, this is where I once had my biggest break out. My face never fully recovered, mainly because of how much I squeezed and picked at it.

This is one of the only products that has helped me with this. I love to spot treat by putting the Glow Tonic on a cotton round, leaving it on my scars for a few minutes, finishing my skincare routine and heading to bed. I wake up with noticeably brighter, plumper skin.

I also apply this directly to active acne. I have fought off some nasty whiteheads with my Glow Tonic.

So all in all, it’s a wonderful little product! It smells great and is easy to use. It gives you the results you’re looking for almost immediately, soothing and brightening your skin.

Over time it will lighten hyperpigmentation and acne scarring. Helping exfoliate your skin resulting in better absorption from your skin care products, helping you use less and save more.

Let me know if you’ve tried this out! I would love to hear what you think! If you haven’t please grab it and thank me later.
